About Us
Welcome to the 4-H Growing U Kids Blog! GrowingU is a joint project led by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service 4-H program and Prairie View A&M Cooperative Extension 4-H program. Collaboratively, we will share the curricula of AgriLife Extension’s Learn, Grow, Eat & GO!; Junior Master Gardener; and Walk Across Texas initiatives to educate students at six locations across the state. The five-year project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
The GrowingU Mission
Our mission is to combat childhood obesity by ensuring the availability of affordable, nutritious food and providing individuals and families’ science-based nutritional guidance.
The GrowingU Program is administered by the Texas A&M University AgriLife Extension Service in partnership with the Prairie View A&M University – Cooperative Extension Program
